Your LOGO is your face! (first impression)

We all have a face. Some more impressive than others… but all of us have one.
(some even spend big bucks to improve their “first impressions”)

Your logo serves as your first impression to your organization.

This logo may include:
TYPE: (FedEx)
YOUR FACE: (Chris Pirillo)
ICON: (Apple)

No matter how large or small…it simply identifies your organization.
Your logo says, “Hi, I’m Matt” (well, uno… insert your name there).

Your BRAND is the lasting impression you leave behind!

It’s why we remember you.

  • It’s why Target came out of nowhere (when Wal-Mart and K-Mart were already in the race) and moved up the chain.
  • It’s why we know some obscure zany guy named Weird Al Yankovich – who made money on singing other artists’ songs.

They all produced consistent efforts to keep their identity in front of you in creative ways.

What’s worth remembering is worth repeating.

Let me say that again, what’s worth remembering is worth repeating. That’s what branding does. It’s the consistent reproduction of who you are (and where you’re going).

So… whether you’re a fortune 500 company or a guy selling shirts on the side of the road, BRAND yourself!

Here are some random ideas, in no particular order, which my brain discharged:

  • Get a catch phrase – say it all the time (without being annoying).
  • Capitalize on color consistency – colors play on our emotions and can leave impressions.
  • Make personal connections – people desire relationships.
  • Wear your brand everywhere – this is literal and figurative. Always communicate to your audience. You don’t have to shout! Just a whisper will do.

Hey… I’m not an expert by any means… I’m just the GURU ;)
